This watercolor sketch depicts an autumn scene at a quiet temple in Kyoto. It captures the beautiful contrast between the vibrant golden hue of the ginkgo tree enveloping the temple gate and the deep green of the bamboo forest spreading out beside it. The soft sunlight filtering through the trees onto the old tiled roof and gate conveys the calm, historical passage of time there.
